The name “Kitisuru” comes from a nearby river called “Gìtathuro,” which was borrowed from the original inhabitants of the area, who mainly spoke the Kikuyu dialect. Kitisuru is located approximately 11 kilometres from the city center and is bordered by other affluent neighborhoods such as Westlands, Gigiri, and Spring Valley. It is serviced by well tarmacked roads and when it comes to transportation, there are multiple cabs and public transport services available. Some of the roads that pass through the Kitisuru area include the Redhill Link road, Ngecha Road, and Peponi Road.
